Cowpoke: Content Management for the Moo Generation

What is Cowpoke? Well the website you're looking at is operated, maintained and served using Cowpoke. If you don't know what content management is, it's basically a fancy-pantsy name for a method to store information and present it in a uniform manner, while allowing it to be easily managed (in our case, edited by multiple people without having to dole out FTP access). There's a ton of other projects out there that do the same sort of thing, such as PHPNuke and MediaWiki.

But we like ours, because it was built from the ground up to do exactly what we wanted. What we wanted was a system that would let us store HTML pages without all the extra formatting crap around them, and could serve pages very fast. This allows us to update the look and layout of the site without having to painstakingly modify a couple hundred pages.

It's not yet ready for download, but if you're interested, check us out on IRC and we'll probably be able to work something out. It's not for the tame hearted though - it's not written in PHP and it's not generally user-servicable for anything less than a programmer/power-user.
